Smoking Soul BBQ originated out of a mix of necessity, faith, and passion. Chef David has dabbled in just about every type of cuisine over the years as a leader in the kitchens of Private Clubs such as Golden Bear (Keene's Point), Citrus Club, Interlachen, Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney World, and Fleming's Steakhouse. After being bit by the BBQ bug he started to research crafting the perfect smoke, taking notes from some of the South's best BBQ chefs, turning into his own obsession.
This side hobby turned into a back porch side hustle once 2020 did it's thing (hello, Covid Layoffs!). Neighbors were able to enjoy some normalcy by picking up a new lunch and dinner option conveniently close by after the great shut down. Buzz generated, word spread to other neighborhoods, and it's taken us to where we are now.
